Leaders must have a sense of God’s purpose for them and their followers (vs. 1)

Leaders must be humble, so humble they will put up with bothersome followers (vv. 6-9)

Leadership in a small group setting shows the true nature of the leader

It takes time for a leader to get to know the deeper issues on his team
